Stop Press: I'm ranked in Top 10 Cancer Blogs of 2011
07 Jul 2011
I'm delighted to say that this blog has just been listed at Number 5 in Cision's 'Top 10 UK Cancer Blogs, 2011'. It may not quite be an Oscar or a Sony, but it's nice.
The Cision top 10 are:
3. Alright Tit
5. My Cancer Blog (Mike Baker)
7. stayabreast
10. Yoga For Cancer
Cision is a 'global media intelligence provider'. If, like me, you're not quite sure what that means, here's their website: uk.cision.com/en-gb/Resources/Social-Media-Index/Top-UK-Social-Media/Top-10-UK-Health-and-Pharma-Week/Top-10-UK-Cancer-Blogs1/

Just to say ....
Have always admired your educational reporting, but have only just picked up on the fact that you have cancer.
V pleased that recent news has been positive. Am keeping my fingers crossed.

Dear Michael: Over awed and impressed by your incredible response to your diagnosis. You write so movingly; I can almost hear your voice. So many years since you were over here after Cambridge. Linda was the first to find and read your blog. So happy to hear you are trying alternatives, especially the homeopathy. Not wanting to confuse you, however, I have a friend who is an ayurvedic counselor who has given me two internet address of people in England he knows. I send them to you feeling that it's the only way I can do anything at all helpful. Though if you choose to discard them both because you already are doing enough, I'll understand perfectly.
1) Rex is described as a healer and consultant. He visited briefly and Joe and I were both impressed with him as a man. His website is www.rexlassale.com Possibly the shiatsu body work might relieve the strains of the chemo?
2) A website for the use of macrobiotics in the treatment of cancer. My friend Bob says that Jon Sandifer knows the best people to contact in macrobiotics. His website is www.fengshui.co.uk or www.macrobiotics.org.uk
As a churchgoer my prayer life is not strong but when it happens I pray for you earnestly. Joe and I both send you much love and good thoughts and we'll keep in touch with your progress. Much much love, Elisabeth.

Cancer
Hi Mike:
I only found out about your cancer on reading Ed.Journal's Phoenix. First, let me say how devastated I was/am to learn of it being "inoperable" but I'm also quite sure that, like Phoenix, you will rise again in perfect health. Your own reaction to the news has been positive and that's great!! I have just one piece of advice: Please contact the following:
GERALD GREEN at "Shangrila",
53 Downlands Close, Bexhill-on-Sea,
East Sussex, TN39 3PP.
He is a medical herbalist and immunologist (Tel: 01424 218683 - only afternoons and evenings please).
Gerald has "cured" scores of cancers and is now treating his own cancer of the larynx. He might well put you onto a strict diet and provide you with some herbal capsules. He has treated my ulcerative colitis (doctors at King's wanted to operate and give me a colostomy bag some years ago. I refused - and thanks to Gerald Green I've not needed an op!) You may mention my name. Good luck!
No need to answer this. Wait until you are completely cured; then answer.
Every good wish,
John
